Stamps Teach

Welcome to Stamps Teach. Our mission is to resource educators with postage stamp-related material. Educators can use these tools to add fun and interest to their current curriculum while exposing students to world geography, languages, currencies, culture, history, art, etc. through postage stamps.

This free resource includes:

Lesson plans for preschool to 2nd Grades

Stamps Teach Plus for 3rd to 5th Grades (Registration required)

Lesson plans for 6th to 12th Grades

The APS, the nation’s largest stamp collecting organization, will provide free youth memberships to all children who send in an application for the Young Stamp Collectors of America (YSCA) program. YSCA is a national program providing monthly online meetings with children who collect stamps, led by an APS staff person. Other services include e-newsletters about the hobby, meetings at APS stamp shows twice a year in cities around the country, and a pen pal service.

If you are interested in utilizing stamps as a learning tool with your curriculum, it's easy to get started.

Stamps Teach is sponsored by the New Initiatives Committee of the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum's Council of Philatelists, the American Stamp Dealers Association, and by the American Philatelic Society, the nation's largest nonprofit stamp collecting organization.

TESTIMONIAL:

There were several children that couldn't stop calling my name and wanting to share what they had found. They were so excited as they were searching through the stamps.
